Settimana di latenza dal blog ma settimana molto impegnativa e importante: in ordine abbiamo trovato casa a Londra e siamo andate al Salone del Gusto, ovvero per noi gastronomi, la Fiera con la F maiuscola (e anche tutte le altre lettere:-)
Il Salone del Gusto rende onore a tutto (o quasi) il patrimonio gastronomico italiano organizzando oltre alla fiera in sè, anche conferenze e workshop che spaziano dagli argomenti cari a Slow Food (leggesi l'importanza della biodiversità e della preservazione dei prodotti agroalimentari di tutti i popoli del mondo) a quelli della più feroce attualità come gli ogm or increasing the marketing of food products "niche" in supermarkets. We chose to divide the room in two days focusing on the first foreign and southern Italy and northern Italy in the second. In the middle there are also escaped several visits to the market which is located outside of street food: a sort of miniature market organized by Chef Kumalo at Cesena.
regarding the presence of food banks from abroad have to say just one thing: as the Salon of 2006, their presence has decreased dramatically, leaving a great void in the Eastern cuisine at all represented in this edition. The second go because we sought in the crisis which obviously did not bother many garrisons and restaurants in the land of the Rising Sun at a time in Turin. Definitely a great shame. Another thing that we could not see-yet another tangible sign of the crisis-is that the samples are now in charge, mentre 4 anni fa era tutto gratuito; ora per onestà "di cronaca" dobbiamo dire che non tutto era a pagamento ma molti degli stand facevano fatica a offrire e questo in una proporzione "più da lontano viene il prodotto più l'assaggio è caro". Certo, ovvio, però all'inizio ci ha lasciato un pò stralunate. La passeggiata per il Salone "estero" ci ha viste impegnate in pani austriaci e tedeschi (ovviamente tutti di segale e ad alto contenuto di semini:-), presìdi di particolari cavoli e patate, aringhe norvegesi, mooooltissimi formaggi francesi, moooltissimi formaggi svizzeri e uno stand delle Kettle chips su cui Marcy si è fiondata (va bè non si può chiedere all'UK di offrire molto di più!). Different speech to the South of Italy: the people were much less and the situation was more manageable. Now obviously I can not mention everything we have seen and tasted but a top five (in the fashion of sprout) of the South is a must have it:
1 butter dairy Holland, Andria : something superlative, real burrata,
sold also Eataly.
2 Stand Noto almonds and pistachio : there is not much to say is
simply the best in Italy nuts, cream and pistachios may
poi rendere ogni vostro dolce qualcosa di irripetibile.
3 Ricotta e mozzarella di bufala di Domenico Romagnuolo : questo caseificio ha avuto
molti riconoscimenti come produttore dei migliori formaggi filanti d'Italia, e si sente. La
mozzarella è divina e la ricotta era perfetta nel cannolo in cui la facevano provare.
4 Fichi al rum/o caffè ricoperti di cacao, dell'officina del gusto Santomiele, Salerno :
piccoli, teneri profumatissimi fichi del Cilento, imbevuti di rum e melassa di fichi e
ricoperti di cacao, devo aggiungere altro?!
5 Il pane di Matera : trivial? It is perhaps a little true, but it is too good and too Keeper

Finally some known negative: there was rather disappointed with the presence of Molise, which basically was not there only two stands, one of which really do not just noteworthy, it brought terrible oils Flavoured .. Girls of Gustitaly are in your hands!
